YTT....here we go!

29. Jan. 2012 - 01:22

YTT is here! Our first Episode went to air last Sunday night and we are busy putting together Ep 3 at the moment. What did you think? Haven't seen it? Check out YTT.com.au or you can check out my Facebook Fan Page which always has updated photos and videos (Thanks Nikki).

I gotta say i am absolutely loving it. The whole team behind the scenes are all so talented and lovely to work with. It really is a pleasure to work in such an open, honest, creative environment. I am learning heaps on the job, and will hopefully continue to grow as a presenter and as a person. I figure that hosting is like any other live gig i have done. If i look like i'm having a good time. The audience generally is. (Little do they know, i'm freaking out a little bit on the inside)

The team is just a delight and i know we've got the right mix of characters. The best part is… not only are they ridiculously talented kids… They are kind, humble and really hard working. Plus they are so eager to learn, better their craft, if you will. And they have become such a tight unit over the last three months under the guidance of Kelly Aykers, Manni Carrela, John Foreman, Joe Main. I help out whenever i can.
I haven't got any favourites, No. They are all my favourites. But who is yours?

To have Tina back in Australia and back on YTT is such a thrill for me (and Johnny Young). She will be able to offer sound advice to the children (YT TEAM and Contestants) from her experience on YTT and over her illustrious career. She is a true performer, and already, after the first Heat, i can tell she will be wonderful judge. I love her honesty and her frankness about life and people.

Alongside her, is a man, i am just getting to know, but feel we have already made a great connection. Chucky Clapow (pronounced Clay-Pow) has such an incredible energy. Hats off Network Ten, for uncovering another awesome talent for Aussie TV. His critique of the first 4 contestants was absolutely on the money. He delivers his comments to the kids with the same energy, certainty and heart that he delivers his dance moves.

Both judges are very inspiring in their own way. I love the dynamic already between the two of them. I also love the fact that this show isn't about them, and neither of them will make it about them. We are all there for the kids. To inspire, mentor, and most importantly have fun with…. the kids.

So, i hope you can watch the show every sunday night. Because if you don't, you'll be the only ones not doing it!

You can always check the website YTT.com.au for heaps of cool stuff as well. Including behind the scenes videos and interviews with the team. Oh, and you can even vote for your favourite Contestant of the night. ITS FREE!!! Help them make it into our Wild Card Semi Final and maybe they could win the big prize in the Grand Final.

All prizes will be revealed soon. Actually, this Sunday night. So be watching.

And guess what, it's not too late to audition either! Go to the website and upload a video of yourself doing something AMAZING! Fingers crossed.

Just want to say thank you to all who have made this possible… Johnny, Ten, Granada, Friends, Family, You Guys of course for all the love and support. And a big thanks to Wend.

It really is the start of something quite special. Positivity breeds positivity.

Keep smiling every body… You never know who's watching.

Much love

Rob

PS. Big love to the Mums and Dads of not only the YTT Team (who are beautiful, supportive people) but of all the kids out there trying to pursue their dreams.

What! it's December?

15. Dec. 2011 - 16:23

Well yes it is and what a year it's been. Bit of acting on Winners and Losers and singing as well on Underbelly! With the new year around the corner it's all starting to get quite busy.

There's, of course, lots of Xmas shopping to do - more than usual, I have just adopted 10 kids (YTT Team), plus my family and friends as well. Thank goodness (Wicked Reference for all those playing at home) there's Kris Kringle.

I am super excited about the new show and can't wait to get in the studio....have you seen the launch promo.....rockin!...

But before all that, I'll be singing at Carols by the Bay in Hobart on Sunday night plus performing with the gorgeous and super talented Marina Prior at Morning Melodies on Monday at Melbourne Concert Hall. Did I mention it's with the Airforces 40 piece band?!!!! Awesome!

Hope you manage to stay stress free during the crazy holiday period and that you all behave yourselves. Well, a little mischief never hurt anyone. So merry Xmas and all the best for 2012!!! Happy New Year!

Love Rob
Hope you like the new site... "just hear those sleigh bells jingling..."
